Help for panic attacks and anxiety attacks can be found in many forms. Some of the most common forms of help can be found through health care providers, psychologists, psychiatrists, homeopaths and Chinese medicine practitioners. But did you know that self help is a real and very viable method that can help you end panic and anxiety attacks?
For example, many find relief by making changes in their routine and making positive choices in the way they live by adding exercise, yoga or music therapy to their daily routine.
Regular exercise can mitigate the effects of negative stress by producing a calm and more content mood which contributes to a positive, healthy feeling. This can be quite beneficial in reducing or even ending the triggering of a panic attack or anxiety.
Some common types of helpful exercise are racquetball, dance, a workout at the gym, golf, swimming, a walk with your spouse, family member, friend, your dog or jogging. Make sure to ask your doctor if it is OK for you to exercise, especially if you are being treated for any medical reason.
Many say that after exercise they feel refreshed and are in a happy state of mind mood which may be partially due to chemical interactions within your body during exercise. Feeling happy and content may contribute to a lessening or an end of panic and anxiety attacks.
You might also participate in a support group of others who have had anxiety attacks and panic attacks. This may help you "unload" negative stress in a positive and supporting environment. New techniques to deal with negative stress prior to it elevating to a level that triggers an attack may be a corollary benefit.
Stimulants including but not limited to caffeine in tea, coffee, energy drinks and other drinks may contribute to a nervous or jittery feeling. Avoid or eliminate your use of caffeinated drinks and you may soon experience fewer anxiety related events. I know I did!
Every type of alcohol including beer, wine, hard liquor, liqueur and and illegal narcotics are problematic for anyone. If you are a sufferer of anxiety, they may increase the feeling or cause other complicating the symptoms. The best approach is to using any of these is to "just say no."
Whenever possible, get a good nights sleep. Many sufferers from panic attacks have trouble sleeping as they worry incessantly about real and imaginary problems. To help you get to sleep, consider a diet. An elevated intake of carbohydrates before bed time may help you get to sleep. Try some risotto or pasta. They taste great and may just help you find the path to slumberland.
Last but not least, do some things that are fun such as a family outing to the beach, park, or mountains. Even a backyard picnic or BBQ with neighbors can be a refreshing and relaxing change of pace.
Positive and healthy self help techniques such as these above can potentially make a tremendous difference in helping you end your challenges with panic attacks. I have tried them and found that they did make a positive difference for me. Why not for you as well?
